What is the best way to pursue a career in alternative medicine?
I am thinking about pursuing a career in alternative medicine; holistic nutrition in particular.
I’ve searched for online programs, but for some reason i do not qualify, they say.
I have a GED and a good job, but would like to pursue this career path.
I would need to start this as an onling thing, and maybe attend school in a couple years when I can afford to take some time off.
well I’m attending Clayton’s College of Natural Health and well the admissions criteria was usual standard admissions. check them out:

check out Trinity (more from a Christian perspective):

Alternative medicine is developing day by day due to inability to find
satisfactory solutions by conventional medicine. As far as i am aware
that Biopathy medical system is moving forward as it has been highly
efficient in curing most of the health problems faced by
people.Information may be found on internet.
If you want to study nutrition, then follow a proper dietitian’s course.
There are many scam colleges out there that will be happy to take your money for a course with nonsense such as ‘holistic’ at the front of it.
Do your research very carefully, check whether courses (and institutions) are accredited.
Check out the American Academy of Anti Aging.
A4M.org
It is all about complementary/ alternative medicine and offers a very professional fellowship and board certification program.
You may need to beef up your transcript with another degree in pre-med or chiropractic in order to qualify.
You can do it!
Marcus, please kindly excuse me, and don’t consider my answer to be offensive or sarcastic.People think that Alternative medicines are easy to learn ! But, do you know that any system of medicines be it MBBS,BAMS,BSMS,BHMS etc., need five and a half years to complete. Further more it takes another 3 to 5 years to complete their post graduation and doctorate.
In all those years, they study the anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, pharmaco kinetics etc., more than all these they come across many a patients in the respective hospital attached to their medical colleges, where in they observe the patients and under the guidance of their professors, learn the various aspects of treating the diseases on proper diagnosis.
Learning medicine needs human inter actions and it has got nothing to do with any correspondence courses.Simply for the sake that the holistic medicines do not have any side effects it should not be tried to learn in these particular ways like distant learning.
If you are much interested in learning any such holistic medicines, it is always better to do so under any reputed and recognized educational institutions and that too in person.
I once again, apologize to Marcus, in case if you feel offended. My point of view is not to offend, but try to give an analytical way of answer.
